Arsenal and Man United are worth more

New research from CIES Football Observatory showed that Arsenal and Manchester United are way ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea when it comes to player develompent and creating diamonds. We will have a chance to see which method works best in the coming years.

Podolski and Cazorla

Arsenal players are wroth £119 million more than they were brought in the club and big credits surely goes to Arsene Wenger. He has a nose for underrated players like Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski last summer. It’s time for Wenger to spend and get Arsenal back on glory track.

United’s David Moyes inherits squad which is worth £78 million more than Sir Alex Ferguson paid for them. Robin Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa were certainly two excellent reinforcement for Red Devils.

On the other hand, we have Manchester City and Chelsea. The clubs will be forced to pay lost profit margin in players, but still as the two leading clubs in the world in terms of squad value.

Manchester City’s billionaire owners lost £51 million over recent years in the market. I still believe that this will not unduly affect their astronomical spending in the future. They have already lured Manuel Pellegrini and are chasing big names Isco and Cavani.

Chelsea is in a similar situation as their team is worth £31 million less, but nevertheless with great success in European competitions. The return of Jose Mourinho will also bring more marked fight in English Premier League next season.
