Clubs revenue from Champions League 2012/13

In the last season of Champions League we were impressed with German final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, but in this case we will hold eye on earners and not only winners. Teams taking part in UEFA Champions League can expect to receive a high cash injection and can respond well to the summer transfer market.

At least let’s start with the winners

Bayern Munich had an exceptional last season and they showed quality to complete a historic Treble. Bayern won enormous 55 million euros with their victory over Borussia Dortmund, but surprisingly they are not the best earners. The Bavarians have been very active on the market this summer, they brought two outstanding players Mario Gotze and Thiago Alcantara.

Runners-up Borussia Dortmund put in a remarkably fight to get them to the finals. The team consists of young players won second place with 54 million euros revenue. Manager Jurgen Klopp found replacement for Mario Gotze in Henrikh Mkhitaryan from FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

Italian clubs as the biggest earners

Despite not the best season in Europe, Italian clubs won a nice sum of money. Juventus is our last year’s biggest earner with 65 million euros and most of money came from TV market-pool. AC Milan left competition after group stage, but still managed to earn 51 million euros.
